With Halstead loosing Woolworth’s and EMD, it is sad to think that there seems to be precious few jobs available in Halstead, made worse by local employers with more than their fair share of migrant workers. There is one fairly well known company on the Blue Bridge industrial estate (I can’t disclose the name to comply with forum rules) with about 60 migrant workers and 2 British workers. These aren’t highly skilled jobs, and could be filled from our locals desperately looking for work.
